Jiangxi and Fujian provinces respectively established a special class mechanism to jointly promote the development of hot metal combined transport, and worked together to promote the "transit rail" and "transit water", which laid a solid foundation for accelerating the reduction of logistics costs in the whole society and promoting high-quality economic development.

As an important part of the modern logistics system, the railway department has been committed to improving the service ability of "one order to the end" to fulfill the contract, constantly improving the level of digital multimodal transport management, and improving the efficiency of transport capacity connection and logistics resources utilization. At present, the multi-link express connecting inland logistics node cities has covered provincial capital cities, and the Rail-sea Express train connecting ports and inland hinterland cities has covered major ports across the country.

In order to further build a modern logistics system and give full play to the structural advantages of sea-rail combined transport, South Railway regularly cooperates with local governments, logistics enterprises and shipping port companies, taking Jiangyin Port, Dongfu, Nanchang and Ganzhou International buses as the core, reducing the costs at both ends, implementing a series of policies such as free container storage fees at the port and reducing port sundry charges to achieve the volume of sea-rail combined transport. In order to adapt to the multiple characteristics of the volume and category of ferrous metal combined transport projects, in 2024, Southern Railway announced the "positive list" of container transport items, fully liberalized the range of ferrous metal combined transport categories, and fully implemented the policy of 35-45% of ferrous metal combined transport freight floating, directly reducing the cost by 70 million yuan per year.
